DCSO: Alcohol a ‘contributing factor’ in fatal crash near Yoncalla
One woman is dead after a Monday evening crash in Yoncalla, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, and lone occupant of the car, Alice Crawford, 71, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At approximately 7:08 p.m., law enforcement received a report of a single vehicle that had crashed into a tree in the 3000 block of Hayhurst Road.
Deputies responded to the area along with emergency responders from North Douglas Fire and EMS.
A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said early indications show that alcohol was a contributing factor; however, the crash remains under investigation by the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
