Capitol Theater murals defaced for third time
For the third time in the last month, murals created by local artists to adorn the façade of the historic Capitol Theater in downtown Brownsville have been damaged.
During the most recent incident, the faces depicted in some of the murals were defaced to the point of being unrecognizable, deeply scratched, gouged, with the paint completely scraped from the artwork.
Brownsville police spokesman J.J. Trevino said the department is still investigating all incidents. He asks that anyone with information about these acts of vandalism call Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956) 546-8477.
