Daughter Of Raquel Welch Robbed On Manhattan Street

NEW YORK (AP) _ A 17-year-old man was arrested early today after he and another man allegedly knocked the daughter of actress Raquel Welch to the street and stole her purse, police said.

Tahnee Welch, 26, of New York City, was in Manhattan early today when she was approached by two men who knocked her to the ground with their fists, police said.

The men then grabbed Ms. Welch’s pocketbook, which contained $20 and some credit cards, and fled, said Sgt. Raymond O’Donnell.

Elvin May, 17, of New York, was stopped by a witness and held for police, O’Donnell said.

Ms. Welch was taken to The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center for stiches, he said. A hospital administrator said no one named Tahnee Welch had been admitted this morning.
