Man on work release accused of drug dealing

A man was arrested Friday after Fort Wayne police received tips he was dealing heroin and cocaine from his mother’s home while on day passes from the Allen County Work Release program.

Marlon Matthews, 44, of the 5300 block of Dial Drive was charged with three counts of dealing cocaine or other narcotic drug (heroin), maintaining a common nuisance and violation of work release. He was being held at the Allen County Jail without bail for his violation of work release along with a bail of $152,500 for the drug charges.

Barchell Matthews, 67, of the same address was charged with one count of possession of cocaine or other narcotic (heroin) and maintaining a common nuisance. She was released on her own recognizance.

Police found 23 grams of heroin and 8.2 grams of cocaine in the home.
