Trump to hold Phoenix rally on Saturday

PHOENIX (AP) — Donald Trump has secured a location for his upcoming rally in Phoenix -- the first stop he will make in Arizona as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

The event is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the Arizona State Fairgrounds, which can seat 15,000 people.

Several Arizona Republicans have backed Trump, including Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, former Gov. Jan Brewer and State Treasurer Jeff DeWit, who is also Trump’s campaign chairman for the state. All three are expected to attend the rally, along with thousands of Trump supporters.

Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham says the coliseum is ideal because it is centrally located and indoors, making it easy to secure by law enforcement if there are crashes at the rally.
