JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi’s entire congressional delegation is supporting a request for federal disaster aid after an outbreak of tornadoes.

Gov. Phil Bryant submitted the request to President Donald Trump last week.

Twenty-nine tornadoes were confirmed to have hit the state April 30. One man died, and 20 counties reported damage.

A letter of support for the requested aid was released Tuesday by Republican Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson and Republican Reps. Gregg Harper, Steven Palazzo and Trent Kelly.
