Sisloak, Giunchigliani pledge to support abortion rights
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two Democrats running to be Nevada governor say they support a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion and won’t support restrictions on the procedure.
Clark County Commissioners Steve Sisloak and Chris Giunchigliani made the comments at a forum Thursday night where they also pledge to support paid family leave and “comprehensive, age-appropriate sex education” in all schools that parents can opt out of if they choose.
The event was organized by the abortion-rights group NARAL Pro-Choice Nevada.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Giunchigliani and Sisolak said that if elected governor, they would support including money in the state budget for health clinics that provide abortions.
Sisolak and Giunchigliani will face off with four other Democrats in a June 12 primary.
