The Most Segregated States in America

Over 50 years ago Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave a speech calling for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. Although America has made progress towards realizing Dr. King’s visions, segregation and discrimination continue to exist.

The personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2019’s States with the Most Racial Progress as well as accompanying videos.

WalletHub measured the gaps between blacks and whites across 22 key indicators of equality and integration in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Their data set ranges from median annual income to standardized-test scores to voter turnout.
