Ex-Globetrotter Arrested for Drugs

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) _ A former member of the Harlem Globetrotters has been arrested and charged with delivery of cocaine.

Larry ``Gator″ Rivers was arrested Nov. 3 and released later that day while an investigation continued, police said. He was charged and rearrested on Nov. 4.

Buchanan County prosecutor Shane Alexander declined to give Rivers’ age or discuss details of the charges against him.

Rivers played for the Globetrotters from 1973 to 1985. He had coached girl’s basketball teams in the St. Joseph area and in Troy, Kan.

Rivers remains free on $30,000 bond. His attorney, George Pickett, declined comment.
