Woman Wins $27-Million Slot Jackpot
LAS VEGAS (AP) _ A Las Vegas-area woman who was a casino regular for 23 years hit a record $27.6 million slot jackpot.
The woman, who was not identified, spent $300 gambling at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino before she cashed in on the $27,582,539.48 jackpot Sunday.
She said she plans to share her winnings with her three children and a grandchild, said Michele Masse, a spokesperson for International Game Technology, which manufactures the Super Megabucks game.
She will be paid $1.1 million over 25 years, Masse said.
The previous record of $14 million for a Super Megabucks progressive slot machine was set in September at a Reno casino. Anyone playing at the more than 300 machines across the state is eligible to win a combined jackpot.
