McCain, Kirkpatrick to debate in Phoenix next month
PHOENIX (AP) — U.S. Sen. John McCain and Democratic opponent Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick will face off in what will likely be their only debate next month.
Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication announced Friday that the two candidates will meet for a live televised debate on Oct. 10 in Phoenix.
The topics of discussion will include foreign, domestic and regional issues.
The questions will include inquiries submitted by the voters through social media.
The Arizona Republic and Arizona PBS, which will air the debate starting at 7 p.m., are sponsoring the event.
Kirkpatrick is looking to unseat the Republican senator, who is running for his sixth term.
She has represented the 1st Congressional District, which includes northern and eastern areas of the state, since 2013.
