Barbra Streisand’s Mom Dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Diana Streisand Kind, mother of singer Barbra Streisand, has died, her daughter’s publicist announced Monday. She was 93.

Mrs. Kind died Saturday at a Los Angeles hospital of complications from an accident she suffered at home last November, said Streisand publicist Dick Guttman.

Mrs. Kind, who was involved in a number of charitable causes, had worked in the New York City schools for many years.

``The daughter of a cantor, she had a beautiful singing voice, a legacy passed on to her daughters,″ Guttman said in a statement.
