Miss America Mund to attend State of the Union address
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Miss America Cara Mund will attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday as the guest of U.S. Sen. John Hoeven.
Mund is a 23-year-old Bismarck native. She won the Miss America competition last September. She’s the first winner from North Dakota in the history of the nearly century-old scholarship pageant.
Hoeven is a North Dakota Republican. He says Mund is “a wonderful example of the bright young people we have in our state.”
U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer has invited Fisher Industries CEO Tommy Fisher as his guest. Fisher Industries is based in Dickinson.
U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp hasn’t announced her guest.
