Mark Harmon Weds Pam Dawber
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Actor Mark Harmon ended 35 years of bachelorhood and married actress Pam Dawber during a private weekend wedding in a school chapel, his publicist said Tuesday.
Only a few friends and family attended Saturday’s hush-hush ceremony, and a crowd invited to Harmon’s Brentwood home for a Sunday barbecue was startled when the wedding announcement was made, Cos Goldsberry said.
The wedding took place at the Harvard School, an independent Episcopal boy’s high school in the Studio City area of the San Fernando Valley. Harmon, 35, graduated from the school in 1969.
It was the first marriage for both.
The couple was honeymooning this week in Vancouver, British Columbia, where Harmon is filming the CBS-TV movie ″After the Promise,″ a true story about an unemployed widower who tries to regain custody of his children during the Depression, Ms. Goldsberry said.
Harmon, a lifeguard, bartender and sneaker salesman before turning to acting, last year concluded a three-year stint as Dr. Robert Caldwell on NBC- TV’s ″St. Elsewhere.″ He is also the TV spokesman for Coors beer.
Miss Dawber, 34, who played Mindy opposite Robin Williams in the TV comedy ″Mork & Mindy,″ is now starring in the CBS-TV series ″My Sister Sam.″
