Actress Pregnant With Third Child

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field and her producer husband are expecting a baby at the end of the year, her publicist said Wednesday.

The child will be Miss Field’s third and the first for her husband, Alan Greisman, 39. They were married in a private ceremony in December 1984.

Miss Field, 40, has two children by her first husband, high school sweetheart Steve Craig. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1973 after five years. Sons Peter, 17, and Elijah, 14, live with Miss Field.

Heidi Schaeffer, Miss Field’s publicist, said she hadn’t talked to the actress to find out whether she was hoping for a girl.

Miss Field learned of her pregnancy during filming of a movie being made for Columbia Pictures called ″Punchline,″ which co-stars Tom Hanks.

Filming will continue through the end of the month, Ms. Schaeffer said. Miss Field will not begin any other major projects until after the baby is born, she said.

However, she does have a film due out this fall. ″Surrender,″ already completed, also stars Michael Caine and Steve Guttenberg.

She won best actress Academy Awards in 1979 for ″Norma Rae″ and in 1984 for ″Places in the Heart.″ She was awarded an Emmy for her performance in the 1976 NBC television film ″Sybil.″
