Shania Twain’s House Is For Sale
DEXTER LAKE, N.Y. (AP) _ Country music star Shania Twain is putting her Adirondack Mountain estate up for sale, according to a report today.
The asking price for the 3,000-acre property is $9 million, the Plattsburgh Press-Republican reported.
Twain has had a home here for four years with her husband, Robert John ``Mutt″ Lange, a producer who writes songs with his wife and is credited with the success of classic rock bands such as Def Leppard, AC/DC and Bryan Adams.
During that time, they have fought with the Adirondack Park Agency regarding the construction of buildings, including a studio, on the property.
Twain, who could not be reached by the paper for comment, will be missed by many of the residents.
``She was really good to the town, our fire department, the senior citizens,″ Franklin County Legislature Chairman Ray Susice said. ``And she gave a lot of work to the people in the surrounding area.″
Twain was a steady contributor to the St. Regis Falls Fire Department, Chief Wilbur Bailey told the paper.
``She gave us a special donation for our truck, and she even gave us money toward the ice storm (expenses). It’s too bad they have to move.″
Twain also donated a new sound system to the local school district, the paper reported.
