FESTUS, Mo. (AP) — Authorities have found a woman’s body after extinguishing a fire in a St. Louis area mobile home.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Festus Fire Department Assistant Chief Chuck Boyer says firefighters arrived early Thursday to find light smoke coming from the home. They went inside and quickly put out the fire. Boyer says the lone occupant of the home was found dead just inside the door.

Boyer says smoking is being investigated as a possible cause. The 53-year-old victim was a smoker and used a walker and wheelchair to get around. The woman’s name wasn’t immediately released.
