Two separate wrecks result in overturned vehicles in Aiken County on Thursday
Two vehicles overturned Thursday after being involved in separate wrecks in Aiken County.
Officers with the Aiken Department of Public Safety first responded to an accident on the Southside of Aiken around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The driver wrecked their car, which flipped and landed upside down on the grass in front of South Aiken Baptist Christian School after failing to yield at the intersection of Silver Bluff Road and Dougherty Road, said Lt. Karl Odenthal with the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The driver was taken to the hospital, but did not have severe injuries, Odenthal said.
Around 5:35 p.m. Thursday, South Carolina Highway Patrol and deputies with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wire Road and Rudy Mason Parkway in Aiken County.
One of the vehicles had flipped upside down, and the driver of the overturned vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
It’s unknown what exactly happened to cause this second accident Thursday, according to police.
