Winona Fire Department calls for Aug. 15 to Aug. 18
Wednesday, Aug. 15
12:05 p.m. — Responded to a report of smoke coming from an apartment on the 1100 block of West Mark Street. Firefighters arrived and ventilated the apartment.
1:32 p.m. — Responded to the 1200 block of Parkview Avenue for a report of unauthorized burning. Firefighters arrived to find a homeowner burning brush, cardboard and newspaper. The homeowner was advised only to burn clean dry firewood and was given a copy of the city fire code.
4:58 p.m. — Responded to Hwy. 61 for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
Thursday, Aug. 16
4:18 p.m. — Responded to East Broadway Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Firefighters arrived and cleaned the scene of debris and fluids.
Friday, Aug. 17
7:27 a.m. — Responded to a report of a downed power line that had fallen across the railroad tracks. Firefighters reported the line to Xcel Energy to cut power to the line.
Saturday, Aug. 18
1:11 p.m. — Responded to the 700 block of Menard Road to rescue a person stuck in a stalled elevator. Firefighters responded to the second floor of the building and removed three people from the elevator.
