Longacre increases lead to three in city council race

NEEDLES — Challenger Zachery Longacre has increased his lead to three votes over incumbent Louise Evans for one of three seats on Needles City Council.

According to the Nov. 27 update of the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, Longacre now has 483, Evans 480.

The top two vote-getters remain current Mayor Ed Paget M.D. with 689 and Timothy Terral, in his second campaign for council, with 501. Barbara Beard, in her first campaign for city council, received 431.

Jeff Williams, running unopposed for mayor, has 750 votes.

The ballots were cast in the Nov. 6 statewide general election. California’s Secretary of State Alex Padilla expects county officials to have completed canvassing votes by Dec. 7.
