Man facing criminal sexual conduct charge enters guilty plea
A former Silver Bluff High School employee pleaded guilty Tuesday related to charges of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.
Richard Jeffery, of Aiken, entered into a guilty plea, according to Assistant Solicitor Ashley Hammack, and will face sentencing at a later date.
According to a previous article in the Aiken Standard, Jeffery was charged in 2015 with 13 counts of sexual conduct involving a minor for events ranging from 1998 to 2001.
According to the article, Jeffery was identified as a former school safety monitor.
Jeffery was placed on administrative leave in May 2015 after Aiken County School District officials learned of the investigation, according to the article.
Reports state that the incident did not involve a student and did not happen on school grounds.
