Beech Island man charged in March domestic incident
A Beech Island man was charged Friday in a domestic incident involving a 41-year-old woman and a juvenile at a Grady Lane residence in March.
Derek Michael Page, 31, of the 500 block of Grady Lane, is charged with first-degree domestic violence and malicious injury to personal property, value $2,000 or less, according to jail records.
On March 30, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies met with the victim who reported Page had assaulted her, broke her phone and locked her inside his Grady Lane home.
She said in the report Page “struck her in the leg with his fist” and “slammed her hand in the door.”
Page allegedly locked the victim inside his house and left with the juvenile. The victim told police she was able to escape by removing items blocking the back door.
Page reportedly came back to the residence, realized the victim escaped and sprayed Armor All in her face. The victim said he also damaged her car by using his keys to scratch the paint.
The victim added in the report that she put the juvenile in her car and left the scene to get help.
Following an investigation, police issued warrants for Page’s arrest.
He was arrested Friday and taken to the Aiken County detention center, where he was released on bond on Monday.
