Reed-Custer cracks triple digits in I-8 win

Known for their up-and-down, fast style of play, the Comets added another page in the history books with a 100-62 win against Wilmington.

Gavin Grace led the charge for Reed-Custer with 28 points. Russell Page posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and 10 other Comets collected at least one field goal.

Joey Flannery scored 16 points for Wilmington, and Matteo Lombardi followed with 14 points.

Bradley-Bourbonnais 67, Lincoln-Way West 42

Christian Straw and Jason Hartsfield were locked in, each scoring 20 points in the Boilers’ victory.

GCMS 65, Watseka 63

Brendan Fletcher scored a game-high 25 points, and Justin McTaggart followed with 20 points for the Warriors.

Herscher 54, Sandwich 44

Tyler Jarnagin finished with a game-high 25 points, and J.T. Krismantis followed with 12 points in the Tigers’ I-8 win.

Milford 59, Westville 45

Tyler Schmidt dropped 25 points in the Bearcats’ 17th win of the season.

Watseka 65, Central 29

The Warriors punched their ticket to a regional championship after defeating the Comets.

Mallory Drake led all scorers with 19 points and five rebounds for Watseka. Summer Cramer followed with 16 points. Natalie Schroeder added 12 points, and Kennedy Bauer had 10 points and six rebounds.

Rose Ritter finished with 17 points, as the Comets’ 2017-18 season came to a close.

GC-M-S 37, Momence 28

Momence’s season also reached its final destination at the hands of the Falcons.

Matti Lanie scored 18 points, and Brooke Kelly had five points.
