Vt. woman survives close call with freight train

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. -

A close call for a drunk woman lying on the train tracks in Lyndonville.

Police say Cecelia Humphrey, 30, of Lyndonville, was drunk when she passed out on the train tracks Thursday afternoon.

A freight train operator spotted her and hit the brakes. The train stopped just short of Humphrey, bumping her shoulder.

Police say Humphrey’s blood alcohol content was 0.186 in a preliminary breath test. She now faces charges of disorderly conduct.
