Student detained following disturbance at Magnolia School of Excellence
A student at Magnolia School of Excellence is in custody after rumors spread of an alleged threat.
Investigators with Shreveport Police Department and Shreveport Fire Department responded to the scene shortly before noon, Friday.
The Shreveport Police Department tells KTBS 3 News that students reported that another student allegedly threatened to bomb the school.
The Shreveport Fire Department’s Bomb Squad with the assistance of the Bossier City Bomb Squad searched the location. No devices were found.
Fire officials confirm that investigators detained one student for questioning. The investigation is ongoing.
Around the time of the incident several worried parents picked up children from the school after receiving calls and texts from students.
The school did not issue a mandatory evacuation.
