FALL RIVER – The Fall River Village Board approved a contract for reconstruction of South Street at a recent meeting and work will take place over the summer, starting once school is out.
According to Village Clerk Marie Abegglen, the board voted unanimously to award a contract worth $684,000 to Kruczek Construction of Green Bay. Abegglen said Kruczek was the low bidder out of 11 bids and bids ranged as high as $912,000.
The project will span from just south of Main Street to about the middle of the 300 block of South Street. It will be a complete reconstruction including road, gutters and sidewalks as well as sewer and water.
It is scheduled to begin June 5 with a target date of Aug. 31 for completion.
There will be special assessments for sidewalks. Residents can learn more about the project at an informational meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on April 26 at Fall River School, 150 Bradley St.
