United Way of Lee County surpasses campaign goal, presents awards

DIXON – The United Way of Lee County beat its annual fundraising campaign goal by about $7,000 and presented awards to area businesses, organizations and individuals Friday.

The agency brought in $422,130 this year and set its target at $415,000.

Those honored during the annual celebration and awards dinner were Darla Foulker for Volunteer of the year, Lauren Mills for Rookie Volunteer of the Year, and Stephanie Terranova and Brad Sibley for Goalbuster of the Year.

Businesses and organizations of achievement were Wipfli, Midland States Bank, Ken Nelson Auto Group and Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center for employee excellence awards for per capita giving, Donaldson Company for Campaign Innovators of the Year, and the Goodfellows of Lee County for Community Partner Agency of the Year.
