Lyla Myrtle (Solberg) Krone

DENVER — Lyla Myrtle (Solberg) Krone, age 87, a longtime resident of Poplar, now of Denver, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 in Denver.

She was born April 10, 1930 in Poplar, to Henry O. and Effie Mable (Dahl) Solberg. She married Louis Krone on June 6, 1951, and together they made their home in Poplar where she was a cosmetologist for 63 years. She was active with the Girl Scouts and was a Sunday school teacher when her daughters were at home, and was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Her husband, parents, four sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Survivors are daughters, Linda Whitley of Canon City, Colorado, and LuAnn Wagner (Richard) of Denver; two grandsons, Derek Much (Kelli) of Celina, Texas, and Dalen Von Essen of Los Angeles; three great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Dawn and Keira Muck, all of Celina; sister, Irene Askelson; and brothers, Roy Solberg and Larry Solberg.


Cremation has taken place, and spreading of the ashes will be done at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
