Coroner: Two 2018 deaths declared homicides
The deaths of a Las Vegas woman and a Fort Wayne man have been declared homicides, the county coroner’s office said today.
Michelle Lee Funk-Pike, 47, of Las Vegas, was found dead May 15 in a hotel room in the 1000 block of Coliseum Boulevard West, the coroner’s office said in a statement following an autopsy.
The cause of Funk-Pike’s death, pending at the time, has been determined to be blunt-force injuries of the head, neck and chest, with strangulation, the statement said. Her death is the 25th homicide of the year in Allen County.
Tramane L. Scott, 29, of Fort Wayne, was found down in the 200 block of Masterson Avenue on Sunday evening, the coroner’s office said. He was taken to a local hospital, where his death was pronounced shortly after arrival.
Scott died from a gunshot wound or wounds, the statement said. His death was the 26th homicide in the county this year.
Both incidents remain under investigation by city police, the county prosecutor’s office and the coroner’s office.
