Strict Constitutional law ignores today’s realities

August 19, 2018 GMT

As I read comments by lawyers who adhere to strict Constitutional law, they claim that the president cannot be put to trial because it detracts from his governing responsibilities.

I feel quite certain that the Framers of the Constitution did not envision a taxpayer-financed piece of equipment that would ferry a president over thousands of miles a day so that he could hold political rallies.
