Masuk topples four-time defending champ New Canaan to reach L final
MONROE — The run for a five-peat is over for New Canaan.
An old foe made sure of it.
Fifth-seeded Masuk knocked off the eighth-seeded Rams 28-14 in the Class L semifinals Sunday afternoon at Benedict Field.
The Panthers (11-1) jumped out to a 28-0 lead and never looked back, securing their first trip to the finals since 2010. Of course, that year they beat New Canaan 50-20 for the L championship.
Masuk will play second-seeded Daniel Hand on Saturday at a time and site to be announced.
