Bluffton police are after a group of thieves who robbed a motorist of cash at gunpoint after faking car trouble late Tuesday, according to a news release.

The incident happened sometime before 10:30 p.m. near Main Street and South Sutton Circle Drive when the male victim was approached by four males and one female riding inside a white or gray, late ’80s or early ’90s Honda Civic.

The female suspect told the victim she and those with her were having car trouble. When the victim popped the hood of his vehicle the four male suspects surrounded him and some type of scuffle followed, police said.
