Police: Man arrested after bomb hoax at Trump hotel in Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A man was arrested Tuesday as the suspect in an apparent bomb hoax at the Trump International Hotel just off the Las Vegas Strip, police said.
A hotel service desk was cleared shortly before 1 p.m., and bomb technicians were brought in after a man left a suitcase and a duffel bag, declared there was a bomb in the building and departed in a taxi, Las Vegas police Capt. Dori Koren said.
The hotel also received two telephoned bomb threats, Koren said.
The hotel wasn’t evacuated, but entrances to the Fashion Show mall across the street and the road past the scene were blocked during an investigation that took about three hours.
No hazardous materials were found, Koren said.
The name of the person who was arrested and the charges he will face were not immediately made public.
