A pair of Pierre residents were arrested on several drug charges Dec. 8, the Pierre Police Department said.
Capt. Jason Jones of the Pierre Police Department said officers responded to a home in the 400 block of North Highland Ave at about 9:42 a.m. to investigate reports of drug activity. When the officers arrived, Jones said, they met and spoke with two women in the home.
During the conversation and ensuing investigation, the officers found drug paraphernalia and narcotics. They then placed Brandi Debolt, 27, and Martha Anders, 37, under arrest.
Debolt was charged with ingesting a substance to become intoxicated, ingesting a drug as a felony and possession of marijuana. Anders was charged with nine counts including distributing or making a controlled substance, inhabiting a room knowing drugs are kept or used there, maintaining a place where drugs are kept or sold and possessing or distributing drugs in a drug free zone, Jones said.
Both Debolt and Anders were taken to the Hughes County Jail.
