Police: Woman found dead in Kansas City, Kansas, apartment

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — A woman was killed inside a Kansas City, Kansas, apartment over the weekend, and a person suspected of killing her was later arrested, police said.

Officers were called around 5 p.m. Sunday to the complex in the city’s Riverview neighborhood, where they found a woman dead inside an apartment, according to a news release from police.

Investigators said a suspect had fled the area on foot and was found and arrested a short time later. Police had not identified the victim or the suspect by Monday and had not given other details about how the woman died.

The woman’s death marked the city’s eighth homicide this year, according to data kept by the Kansas City Star.
