Two men arrested on tentative charges connected to overdose death of Blue Mounds man
Two men were arrested on tentative charges stemming from a 39-year-old Blue Mounds man’s death from an apparent heroin overdose last week, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office is reporting.
Marquis S. Howard, 23, of Madison, was tentatively charged with delivery of heroin and a felon in possession of a firearm. An additional charge of reckless homicide is pending, according to the sheriff’s office report. Donell L. Thomas, 26, of Chicago, also was tentatively charged with delivery of heroin, the report said.
Dane County Sheriff’s detectives seized nearly $15,000 in cash, a 2013 BMW 528 as well as 130 grams of marijuana, 1.7 grams of heroin and .4 grams of crack upon arresting the men, according to the report.
Both men are being held in the Dane County Jail.
The Blue Mounds man was found dead in his home on Apple Hill Drive last Thursday. It appeared that he died of a drug overdose and the case is under investigation by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the report.
The Dane County Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assisted in the arrest of Howard and Thomas, the report said.
