Suspect in East St. Louis killing arrested in Ga.
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — The second man accused in a September shooting death outside an East St. Louis lounge is in custody in Georgia.
The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1cNgL65 ) reports that 42-year-old Torcus Boone Sr. was arrested Tuesday in Augusta, Ga. He’s jailed there on $9 million bond, pending his extradition to Illinois.
Prosecutors in St. Clair County have charged Boone and 36-year-old Dameon Floore with first-degree murder in the Sept. 1 killing of 20-year-old Kenneth Richards outside Denese’s Place.
Floore has pleaded not guilty and is jailed. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 13.
Online court records don’t show whether Boone has an attorney, and he doesn’t have listed home telephone numbers.
