Detective arrest suspect in shooting in South Paterson home invasion
PATERSON – A 25-year-old city man was arrested Thursday on attempted murder, robbery and kidnapping charges stemming from a shooting during a home invasion in the 6th Ward last month, police said.
The suspect, Nathaniel Dixon, was apprehended on Ellison Street by city detectives who were aided by the New Jersey Division of Parole, said Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale.
Police are accusing Dixon of being one of two men who forced their way into a Robert Street home at gunpoint on Oct. 15, then restrained the woman who lived there and shot a male resident when he arrived at the building. The second suspect remains at large, police said. Authorities have not released his name.
The investigation is being conducted by Ceasefire unit Detectives Francisco Brito and Christopher Ravallese. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them at 973-321-1342.
