JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida woman was jailed after her 14-year-old daughter was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

Amanda Guthrie, 34, was booked into jail early Wednesday morning on charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child under 18, shooting/throwing deadly missiles into a dwelling, neglect that caused great bodily harm or permanent disability and possession of over 20 grams of marijuana, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office records.

Officials told news outlets that the shooting took place just after 5 p.m. Tuesday in the family’s Arlington home. Drugs were involved, and Guthrie called the police after the shooting took place, according to an arrest report.

Authorities said they were unsure if the teenage girl’s wounds were “survivable.” She remained in critical condition Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said it has not determined whether the shooting was accidental.

Guthrie was being held without bond. Jail records didn’t list an attorney.
