SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (AP) — Saratoga Springs police say they’ve arrested a suspected drug dealer and recovered more than $2,000 worth of methamphetamine during a traffic stop south of Salt Lake City.

The (Provo) Daily Herald reports (http://tinyurl.com/jjvjn48) an officer pulled the vehicle over Monday morning in Saratoga Springs for having a cancelled vehicle registration.

Police say a search of the car netted about 22 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and multiple meth pipes in a duffel bag.

They say the driver, 28-year-old James Druce, had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

He was booked into the Utah County jail on suspicion of multiple charges, including dispensing a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.

A female passenger also was booked into jail on unspecified misdemeanor charges.
