Prep basketball: Hot-shooting youth brigade carries Mineral Point past Fennimore
Freshman Brayden Dailey scored 27 points and sophomore Isaac Lindsey had 21 points to lead the hot-shooting Mineral Point boys basketball team to a 96-75 victory over Fennimore in SWAL action Tuesday night.
Also for Mineral Point (3-1, 1-1 SWAL), Wesley Berget scored 17 points and Chance Wendhausen had 14 points.
Reid Larson scored 16 points and Kellen Kenney 14 for Fennimore (5-1, 1-1), which had five players score in double figures.
McFarland 60, Evansville 48
Daniel Toennies made five 3-pointers among 21 points as the Spartans (3-2, 3-1 Rock Valley) outdistanced the Blue Devils (3-4, 2-2) despite 18 points from Zach Mielke.
Brady Butler and Trevon Chislom each scored 10 points for McFarland. Seth Maag had 10 points for Evansville.
Jefferson 54, Walworth Big Foot 44
Ben Sukow scored 11 points as the visiting Eagles (2-2, 2-2 Rock Valley) defeated the Chiefs (1-4, 0-4) despite 11 points from Heath Dillenbeck.
Ryan Brost and Zack Peterson each had nine points for Jefferson in the victory.
Big Foot got 11 points from Heath Dillenbeck.
Edgerton 57, Whitewater 39
Jacob Fox scored 22 points to help the visiting Crimson Tide (3-2, 2-2 Rock Valley) top the Whippets (2-4, 1-3).
Edgerton outscored Whitewater 32-13 in the second half after trailing by one point at the break. Daniel Fuller scored 16 points for the Whippets.
Wisconsin Heights 75, Poynette 53
Zach Watkins scored 20 points, including six 3-pointers, to help the Vanguards (4-1) top the visiting Pumas (4-2) in a Capitol crossover game.
Grady Geishirt made five of Wisconsin Heights’ 18 3-pointers on his way to 19 points. Garrett Bruchs scored 16 points for Poynette.
Lakeside Lutheran 64, Watertown Luther Prep 47
Kaitlyn Shadoski scored 14 points to lead 12 scorers who helped the Warriors (4-1, 1-0 Capitol North) defeat the visiting Phoenix (4-4, 1-1).
Camella Kohl led the way for Luther Prep with 12 points.
Barneveld 60, Pecatonica 11
Courtney Skaife scored 15 points and Grace Schutz had 13 points to lead the visiting Eagles (2-4, 2-0 Six Rivers West) past the Vikings (1-6, 0-3).
Barneveld jumped to a 47-7 advantage at the half.
Monticello 64, Johnson Creek 22
Alyssen Noriega scored 15 points and Callisa Briggs added 10 points to lead the Ponies (2-4) past the visiting Bluejays (0-7).
Monticello outscored Creek 40-11 in the second half.
