Woman reports man jumping out at her in Beatrice park

Police say a woman reported that a man jumped out at her while she was walking in Chautauqua Park, sometime Tuesday morning.

Beatrice police chief Bruce Lang said the woman told officers that a man jumped out at her while she was in the park before running away. It’s unclear what the man’s intent was.

Lang said there were people in the park during the reported incident, but that no one witnessed anything.

There is no description of the suspect at this time, although Lang said the suspect may have been wearing a mask.

Lang said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
