He was baptized on November 17, 1941 at his home and later confirmed on April 3, 1960 at Martin Luther Home. His early years growing up on the farm had a guiding influence on him during his life-time but with cerebral palsy it caused him to need security and guidance at the Martin Lutheran Homeosaic for the remainder of his life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and attended Sunday School. It was very important for Ken to be able to attend church at Zion Lutheran, his home church. He enjoyed western movies, especially John Wayne “The Duke” movies and enjoyed going to the movie theater, having fun and laughing.
