Beaver Dam Police Beat April 20-22, 2018
Accident — Police responded after a driver struck a concrete pillar in the 300 block of Seippel Boulevard at 8:19 a.m. Friday.
Accident — Police responded to a man who drove into a ditch near the intersection of Highway 151 and Highway 33 at 10:02 a.m. Friday. His vehicle was towed.
Accident — Police responded to an accident between two vehicles in the 100 block of Frances Lane at 3:14 p.m. Friday.
Traffic stop — A man received a citation for failing to fasten his seat belt and possessing marijuana in the 800 block of Park Avenue after being pulled over at 3:46 p.m. Friday.
Traffic stop — A woman received a citation for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, not having insurance, and failing to fasten her seat belt after being pulled over by police at the intersection of Lakecrest Drive and Madison Street at 4:45 p.m. Friday.
Drugs — Police received an anonymous report of people smoking marijuana in a car in the 100 block of East South Street at 6:16 p.m. Friday. No one was in the car when an officer arrived.
Vandalism — Police received a report of red and blue spray paint on a white building in the 300 block of South Spring Street at 6:41 p.m. Friday.
Noise complaint — Someone made an anonymous complaint of loud music coming from the Family Center, 609 Gould St., at 9:22 p.m. Friday.
OWI — A man was transported to jail on charges of drunken driving for the fourth time after a stop near the intersection of Maple Street and Center Street at 9:22 p.m. Friday.
Vandalism — The taxi company reported dropping off a man and a woman in the 100 block of Gould Street and seeing them proceed to break a window at 10:16 p.m. Friday.
OWI — A man was transported to jail on charges of drunken driving for the fourth time after a stop in the 1300 block of North Center Street at 11:01 p.m. Friday.
Drugs — A man was taken into custody and cited for possession of marijuana in the 100 block of Lakecrest Drive at 11:01 p.m. Friday and later released.
Drugs — A woman was taken into custody for possession of cocaine from the 100 block of Lakecrest Drive at 12:13 a.m. on Saturday and will be referred for charges.
Animal complaint — Police received a complaint of a barking dog in the 100 block of Franklin Street at 3:56 a.m. Saturday but could not make contact.
Noise complaint — A man reported neighbors stomping on the floor in the 100 block of Elm Street at 4:01 a.m. Saturday. No one answered the door when police responded.
Hit and run — A woman reported her vehicle was hit overnight while parked in the 400 block of Madison Street at 8:42 a.m. Saturday.
Accident — Police responded into a truck driving into a cement pole in the 2000 block of North Spring Street at 1:37 p.m. Saturday. The owner had mechanical issues after just taking the vehicle out of storage.
Accident — Police responded to an accident between two vehicle at the intersection of Frances Lane and Gateway Drive at 1:57 p.m. Saturday.
Civil issue — A man reported a woman wouldn’t let him into a residence to retrieve personal items in the 200 block of Vincent Circle at 3:32 p.m. Saturday. An officer stood by as he got some of his items and the rest will be dropped off.
Juvenile alcohol use — Police received multiple reports Saturday night of several vehicles in the 800 block of Park Avenue with occupants who may have been drinking. When an officer arrived, the vehicles were gone.
Fight — A man reported he was in a physical fight in the 1700 block of North Spring Street at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Drugs — Someone reported students were high and leaving in a vehicle from Beaver Dam High School, 500 Gould St., at 11:32 p.m. on Saturday. Police made contact and did not notice any odor or signs of impairment.
Retail theft — An employee at Fleet Farm, 1815 N. Spring St., received a citation for theft from the store on Sunday afternoon.
Found item — A manager at Wal-Mart, 120 Frances Lane, reported a gold boy’s bicycle that had been propped up for days against the side of the building at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday. The bike was taken to the police department.
Retail theft — Police received an anonymous report of theft from Shopko, 822 Park Avenue, at 6:33 p.m. on Sunday and will follow up.
Suspicious activity — A woman reported a man going door to door in the 600 block of North University Avenue at 6:49 p.m. on Sunday saying that he was looking for his vehicle. Police made contact with him and passed information along about his vehicle.
Noise complaint — A man reported large trucks with loud exhaust systems driving around the 100 block of East Maple Avenue at 7:13 p.m. on Sunday. An officer checked the area.
Noise complaint — Police received a report of two possibly intoxicated men being rude and loud in the 900 of block of North Spring Street at 12:47 a.m. on Monday. Police made contact with one and gave him a verbal warning for noise.
