3 injured in 25-foot fall off ladder at Norwood complex

NORWOOD, Mass. (AP) — Three people were injured, two of them critically, in a 25-foot fall off a ladder at a Norwood apartment complex on Friday morning, authorities said.

Norwood firefighters responded to the Windsor Gardens complex just after 11 a.m. after getting a 911 call reporting that multiple people had fallen off a ladder, the Norwood Fire Department posted on Facebook.

Two of them were in critical condition and one was in serious condition, authorities said.

They were stabilized at the scene and one was taken to the local airport for a helicopter flight to a Boston hospital. Another was taken by ambulance to Boston and the third was brought to a local hospital for treatment, the department said.

The town’s building inspector as well as the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were called to the scene.

No names were released and no additional information was made public.

Residents told WBZ-TV the injured were cleaning gutters.
