Jodi Leong was concerned about mosquitoes during the visit by Gov. David Ige, since she said mosquitoes love her. But Paulo, the oldest operating steam locomotive in Hawaii, moves fast enough that mosquitoes don’t have a chance to find you.
Mahalo to Jodi, Teal Takayama and Carrice Caspillo Gardner for all the help during the governor’s visit.
Kenny Ishii wasn’t with his good buddy Sam Choy at the Koloa Landing since he was getting food ready at the Kauai Veterans Center where the governor visited Ed Kawamura Sr. and all the veterans to bless the new Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway signage that went up Friday on a portion of Kapule Highway.
Congratulations to Carolyn Price (she was helping as a youth intern for Sen. Brian Schatz) and all the seniors at Island School who took their final walk Saturday evening!
OK, time to go check out the Taste of Hawaii (Coach Orlando Anaya said the MokiOhana is volunteering) at the Smith’s Tropical Paradise (gotta make sure to see Ali‘i, too).
