Bridgeport prepares for snow, freezing rain
BRIDGEPORT — The city is ready for the storm expected to hit Wednesday and drop less than three inches of snow on Bridgeport.
The Office of Emergency Management announced Tuesday night it’s monitoring a winter storm that has forced the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory for the entire state.
The OEM said snow is forecast to fall in Bridgeport between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, becoming moderate at times between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. That snow will transition to sleet between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday night before changing to freezing rain between 10 p.m. and midnight.
Precipitation will turn to rain between midnight Thursday and 1 a.m. Rain will end between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday. The peak of the storm will continue from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Bridgeport is expected to seen anywhere from 1.5 to 2.4 inches of snow.
