Nevada burglary suspect shot by police, in stable condition
HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — A burglary suspect was shot by police during a foot pursuit in Henderson and is now in stable condition, authorities said.
Henderson Police Capt. Kirk Moore told reporters after the shooting that detectives were conducting surveillance on a man wanted for multiple burglaries. The man was not identified.
Police said officers attempted to stop him around 9 p.m. but the suspect fled authorities on foot. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm, authorities said.
Moore said he believes only one officer fired at the suspect. Police say the suspect did not shoot.
“It is believed that he was hit only one time,” Moore said, adding that the man was taken to a hospital and had non-life threatening injuries.
Moore said another officer was injured during the chase, but it was not a gunshot wound. No further information was provided about the injury.
