Hyatt Hotels: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

CHICAGO (AP) _ Hyatt Hotels Corp. (H) on Wednesday reported a loss of $29 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had a loss of 26 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $2.78 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 12 cents per share.

The hotel operator posted revenue of $1.08 billion in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.15 billion.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $222 million, or $2.13 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.03 billion.
