‘The Combine’ entrepreneurial journey coming to Columbus
The Columbus Area Chamber’s Entrepreneurship Committee is proud to announce a partnership to bring world-class entrepreneurship development to Columbus. The effort kicks off this Saturday morning.
In partnership with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, the Chamber is engaging Econic, an innovation and entrepreneurship firm, to bring “The Combine” to Columbus. The Combine is a new, six-month entrepreneurial journey for those ready to push their ideas into reality or grow their small business.
Columbus will be the first of four pilot communities in the state supported by DED. The Columbus effort kicks off Saturday morning with a free Kickoff Workshop at Ramada from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Absolutely everyone is invited to come try it out and see if you are ready to take an idea and make it a business.
The Combine will include four in-person workshops, Online toolkits and resources, access to a community of entrepreneurs and the option to apply for further coaching and mentorships. Think of it as part “Shark Tank” and part graduate-level entrepreneurship classes, with some new relationships with entrepreneurs across the country thrown in.
Anyone interested can sign up for FREE today at: econic.co/columbus.
It’s also time to get those tickets reserved for the premier event of the fall! The 18th annual “Taste of Columbus” will be Sunday, Oct. 7, as we mark Columbus Day weekend with an event that highlights our area’s food and beverage choices, as well as our area’s well-recognized generosity.
Taste of Columbus this year supports the Columbus Area Future Fund and Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce.
Once again this year, the evening will be a wonderful selection of “tastes” for you to enjoy. The food vendors are, of course, what really makes “Taste of Columbus” special. Vendors who will be providing you their best for this year: Apple Barrel Restaurant/Sapp Brothers, Columbus Christian School, Fair Park Grille, Hy-Vee, Ramada-Columbus, Wal-Mart, Wendy’s and Wunderlich’s Catering.
The event is also a great showcase for local and regional wineries and breweries. This year at Taste of Columbus you will enjoy samples from: James Arthur Vineyards, Johnson Brothers, Sterling Distributing, Republic National Distributing, Prairie Creek Vineyard, Premier Midwest Beverage, Mac’s Creek Vineyard, Miletta Vista Winery and Eagle Distributing.
The Royal Auction Committee has put together another wonderful list of select items. They now have it posted online so you can see the complete list at www.thecolumbuspage.com/events.
